How we met: I’m the type of person who can’t use her phone as a planner, especially when I have a lot of things going on. Therefore, last year, before I started graduate school, I started to hunt for a new planner, because my other one had run out of pages. I would be a grad student in an accelerated program (2-3 years worth of schooling in 8 months, woo!), and I would also be working as a Teaching Assistant on top of that. I needed something that I could use to keep everything organized, or I knew that I would have a meltdown.
alice-planner-2After perusing the local stores and finding that there was nothing that really stood out, I decided to head to eBay, as I’d seen many cute things on there in the past. And this is when I came upon the Alice in Wonderland vintage planners (and yes, there are more than one kind!) After a few days of looking at all of them, struggling to decide, I finally went with the white rabbit one pictured below.

Our time together: I wasn’t really sure what to expect, but from the photo, I could tell that it would be a hardcover journal, which was important because it would have to survive the battle zones which are my purse and backpack. I also really liked the layout of the weekly, and day-to-day planning sections inside.

img_20161124_144216If I have more than one thing going on in one day, I don’t want to run out of room to write (that sort of thing drives me nuts, as a perfectionist). And with this planner I found that despite my busy schedule, I never ran out of space! Another benefit to this journal was that it wasn’t tied to any particular year. Each page had all 12 months listed so that you could circle the one which you’re in, and the date for each day was also left blank so that you can write the necessary numbers in! Because of this, I still have more than 60% of space left in this planner because I haven’t used it since June of this year, when I finished grad school and my last internship. Because of this, I can just start right where I left off, when I become too busy to keep track of everything in my head, haha.

img_20161124_144353This planner also has a section dedicated to yearly planning, as well as monthly planning at the very beginning, which is benefitial for those who like to keep track of things on a yearly or monthly basis. Or those who set yearly or monthly goals for themselves as well. There are also some lined pages at the back, for miscellaneous notes, memos, and such, which I also found useful.

Overall, I really adore the design of this planner, as well as appreciate the practical aspects which it offers. I recommend this planners for those who like to keep a very general diary, those who are only a little busy, as well as those with a busy as schedule as the one I had during grad school!

Thank you so much! Also thank you for reading and leaving a comment! And I hope that you end up getting one! They have many different styles, and I’ll definitely be buying a new one once I run out of pages in this one 🙂

I really like that planner. Teachers tend to be obsessive about office supplies and stationary supplies–especially the cute ones! I thought I was in the wrong blog for a minute because I had recently read 2 reviews on scarlet bookkeeper.wordpress.com of modern takeoffs of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. What a coincidence!

One more coincidence! This is a new world to me–one more benefit of reading book blogs. You can expand out of your comfortable area and discover other types of books you like that you might not have picked up on your own!
