Feature & Follow Friday (#7)

Aaaaaand it’s Friday! This week is all about being thankful, and even though Thanksgiving in Canada happens in October, I decided to participate anyway.

Feature & Follow Friday is hosted by Alison Can Read and Parajunkee.com, and you can find all of the details in her most recent Feature & Follow post! But basically, people post in responses to a prompt every week, and then people vote on each others’ posts on that topic. The person with the most votes, is chosen as the next week’s feature!

And this week’s prompt is:

ezgif-com-7790349b27What are you most thankful for (in the blogging world)?

…Where to begin?!

The blogging community has been nothing but warm and welcoming since I started my blog in April! Fellow bloggers have been understanding about my “new-ness,” about my mistakes with certain terms or the way things are done, and they have also been encouraging. I have felt absolutely no jealousy or rivalry in the blogging community, and while there is a hierarchy, those at the top (those with the most followers, most experience, etc.) still take the time to talk to those with less followers, are newer to the scene, etc. When someone receives an ARC that someone else didn’t, for example, there are still positive comments and encouragement from other bloggers!

I have no complaints, and am nothing but grateful that I have been welcomed into such a positive community. Thank you!

Isn’t it nice in a world with so much negativity to find a safe haven of fellow book lovers? Something to be thankful for indeed. (Down in Mexico the expat community is very fluid about holidays. First we celebrate Thanksgiving with the Canadians, then Revolution Day with the Mexicans, and then back to Thanksgiving with the folks from the U.S.)

      I couldn’t agree more 🙂

And that sounds amazing! That’s how the entire world should be. And that way we may end up with a lot more (much-needed) days off, as well as a better sense of community 🙂
