Welcome to the A Darker Shade of Magic readalong! I’ve been meaning to read this book for so long! I’ve also owned it for almost just as long, but just never got around to reading it because of review books and the density of my reading schedule. I really need to leave some room in my schedule for TBR books like this, and I guess I have been doing that, since I’ve been reading My Lady Jane and hosting a readalong for that one as well (throughout August)! And I’m doing it again in September. But enough rambles.
Myself and some of the ladies in a bookworm Twitter chat have been talking about buddy reading this book for some months, and found that September works best for most of us! When I suggested that I host a readalong (because it helps everyone read at the same pace, helps participants discuss the book in one place together, and because I’ve been having so much fun with hosting the My Lady Jane readalong)! If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them in the comments below, or contact me directly through social media, or my Contact page (which will send your question directly to my inbox)!

Synopsis: Kell is one of the last Antari—magicians with a rare, coveted ability to travel between parallel Londons; Red, Grey, White, and, once upon a time, Black. Kell was raised in Arnes—Red London—and officially serves the Maresh Empire as an ambassador, traveling between the frequent bloody regime changes in White London and the court of George III in the dullest of Londons, the one without any magic left to see. Unofficially, Kell is a smuggler, servicing people willing to pay for even the smallest glimpses of a world they’ll never see. It’s a defiant hobby with dangerous consequences, which Kell is now seeing firsthand. After an exchange goes awry, Kell escapes to Grey London and runs into Delilah Bard, a cut-purse with lofty aspirations. She first robs him, then saves him from a deadly enemy, and finally forces Kell to spirit her to another world for a proper adventure. Now perilous magic is afoot, and treachery lurks at every turn. To save all of the worlds, they’ll first need to stay alive.

Yes I will 😀 I have audibooks of the whole series hehe. It doesn’t fit any of my category challenges but I bought it in 2016 so it DOES count for my TBR pile challenge quota so I will squeeze it in since you’re doing the readalong 🙂

I may pass on this one. I try not to read anything that has very strong language in it and from my research this might not pass. Can anyone who has read it confirm/deny?
