I’m so excited to tell you all about this awesome anthology that was published on October 25th, just in time for Halloween! If you enjoy dark fantasy/fairytales and short stories, then this is the anthology for you! Described by the publisher as “fourteen stories from fourteen different authors [which] will have you curled up on the couch ignoring those trick or treaters!” and I couldn’t have put it better myself (although Halloween was yesterday, you get the gist of it)!
Hello everyone! And welcome to my feature post about The Wonderling by Mira Bartók (published today!). This is a children’s/middle grade book that is “[r]eminiscent of classic literary odysseys and the best of contemporary fantasy, with a sprinkling of steampunk” (how it was pitched to me by the publisher, and I love the sound of that mixture!) I, for one, really enjoy classic novels, as well as fantasy, and steampunk, so this book sounds like it’s right up my alley. I will be reading it too, although sadly not until later this year or early in 2018 due to my crazy reading schedule. I did receive a copy before the pub date, though, and I didn’t want for any of you to miss the opportunity to either read this book, or at the very least, get it on your radar (is that the correct phrase? English sounds so foreign to me sometimes….and then I remind myself that it’s my third language. Hah.) Anyway, here is more about the book before I go and ramble some more:
Happy Book Birthday to The Epic Crush of Genie Lo by F.C. Yee! I really really want to read this book, but my reading schedule was sadly filled to the brim by the time I found out about this epicness! Since I’ll be reading it later this year (most likely), and therefore won’t be able to share my thoughts on it with you guys, I thought the least I could do is take part in the release blitz!
Is anyone else excited for the film release of the first Dark Tower movie? Because I know that I sure am! While I have never read the books, I always found that something drew me to them whenever I saw them at a book store. I would always stop and look the books over, especially once they were being sold in a box set. One of my local book stores had a really good sale on the box set of all of the Dark Tower books, and now I really regret not going for it! Anyone else have moments like that? I’ve been meaning to read Stephen King for years! But because in my head I knew him as an author of some of the most frightening horror stories on earth, I kind of avoided all of his books in stead. This series might change that for me though!
I am very excited to be partnering with Simon & Schuster in order to bring you guys this giveaway! The giveaway is U.S. only, (sorry international followers! I will be hosting an international giveaway very soon!) And the book being given away is Pacific Burn by Barry Lancet, which came out today!
“Pacific Burn is a page-turning, globe-spanning tale of murder, suspense, and intrigue that grabs and holds your attention from beginning to end. Barry Lancet is truly a gifted author, and his character of Jim Brodie is unlike any private investigator you’ve ever encountered in literature.” —Nelson DeMille, New York Times bestselling author of Radiant Angel
Before the link to the actual giveaway, I would like to first share some images and info about the book with all of you (courtesy of Simon & Schuster):
