Top Ten Tuesday (#34): Top Ten Books I Want My Future Children to Read, While They are Still Children

toptentuesday-winter

Happy Tuesday everyone! I’m sorry to have missed a few Top Ten Tuesdays due to being far too busy. But I’m back now! And this week’s topic happens to be about something that I’ve actually been actively thinking about for some time now. I don’t have children yet, but I’ve sort of been compiling a rough list in my head, listing all of the books that I want to make sure that they have available. As a child, I sadly was unable to access diverse children’s books, and therefore was unable to list any here, but please share your suggestions with me, as I would love to add those to my kids’ library!

#ARCstravaganza (#18): Scion of the Fox by S.M. Beiko

Happy Monday everyone! And also happy #ARCstravaganza day! This week I’ll be featuring a book that is not in the format of an ARC as you are used to. Usually ARCs are in paperback format, or e-book format, and say “advanced reader copy” and/or “not for sale” on the cover. However…since this book was sent to me by the author and publisher before its publication date, I’m going to bend the rules and categorize it as an “advanced copy” even though it’s a finished copy. Yes, I know…I’m awful. I couldn’t help but feature this book though! Seriously. I waited until the first snow to take photos of this beauty, and I’m so glad that I did! Then I was too excited not to feature the book for #ARCstravaganza rather than just sharing my Insta pics. Plus, this book was written by a Canadian author! Ah! But enough rambles, on to this awesome book!

#ARCstravaganza (#17): Shadow Girl by Liana Liu

Happy Monday everyone! And also happy #ARCstravaganza day! This week I’ll be featuring the ARC for a book coming out in December. I’m really excited to read it, since the synopsis sounds very intriguing, especially combined with the genres listed for it on Goodreads! It’s also the kind of genre that I don’t usually go for, but something about the cover really drew me to this book.

#ARCstravaganza (#16): The Empress by S.J. Kincaid

Happy Monday everyone! And also happy #ARCstravaganza day! This week I will be featuring the ARC for a book that I have been looking forward to ever since I heard the announcement that it would be coming out. The first book was initially meant to be a standalone, which was great too. But I really really liked it, and while understanding the author’s desire to keep it a standalone, I also missed the setting and characters a lot. So, when I heard that she would be continuing the story by writing 2 more books, I was overjoyed! Bah! Has this ever happened to anyone else (not necessarily with this book, but another standalone turned series), or do you prefer it when standalones remain standalones?

#ARCstravaganza (#15): The Breaking Light by Heather Hansen

Happy Monday everyone! And also happy #ARCstravaganza day! This week I won’t be featuring the ARC of a future release, but rather a past one. Due to this being a book that I was sent without being given a heads up (haha, happens quite a bit), my reading schedule has been too full to read it around the pub date…or for the months that followed. But, I will be reading this book in November! So if you were curious about it, or this is the first time you’re hearing about it, please keep an eye out for my review!

Top Ten Tuesday (#34): Top Ten Yummy Foods Mentioned In Books

                     top-ten-tuesday-halloween-edition

Happy Tuesday and TTT day! This week, we’re all going to leave each other’s posts feeling quite hungry, because this weeks prompt is all about food! Now, if you’re a foodie like me, you will have jumped right to your “read” list on Goodreads and made a top 10 list in no time! Books mention snacks that make me want to try them, or eat them again, all the time! So, I will usually remember which books mentioned which foods, and how badly I wanted to eat said foods, haha. Let’s dig in, shall we?

#ARCstravaganza (#14): Renegades by Marissa Meyer

Happy Monday everyone! And also happy #ARCstravaganza day! I was actually able to schedule this post in advance…because this past weekend was not Thanksgiving weekend, and I wasn’t all thrown off, thinking Saturday was Friday, Sunday was Saturday, and Monday was Sunday. Yeah, I was all confuddled last week and posted my post a day late! Sigh. The shame! Anyway, this week it’s on time, and I’m featuring a book that I’m very excited to have gotten a copy of! I received this book from a good friend of mine, and I’ll just say thank you here again for the millionth time! Hehe.

#ARCstravaganza (#13): Before She Ignites by Jodi Meadows

Happy Monday, my lovelies! Or rather, Happy ARCstravaganza day (as I’ve come to call it)! Um wow. So, as some of you may know, Canadian Thanksgiving was yesterday, so most Canadians had the Monday off. Due to working on Saurday (until about 8 pm) and then having Monday off….all day yesterday,  I was under the impression that it was Sunday! I had this post prepped, and just had to add the Insta photo before scheduling it. But I was all out of sorts, and my mental clock is all out of whack! So, here it is today, one day late, because I’m a confused scatterbrain! Haha. Sorry! To learn more about the meme, please continue reading to see the info below, and continue past that to read more about my ARC choice for this week!

Top Ten Tuesday (#33): Ten Books With Fall/Autumn Covers/Themes

                     top-ten-tuesday-halloween-edition

And we’re back this Tuesday with another exciting prompt…Ten Books With Fall/Autumn Covers/Themes! Yes, I know, I love Autumn way too much. But I’m a strong believer that it’s better to fill your life with things that you like and love, than the opposite. Yes. Positivity! My spellchecker is saying that that is not a real world. Too bad. Anyway, this prompt was harder for me to complete than I’d first imagined. When I first saw the prompt over on The Broke and the Bookish I just kind of smiled to myself, cracked my knuckles, and started a search that I thought would be very short and very yielding. I was so very wrong, and in the end, ended up listing a bunch of books that I have not read yet! Some of them are not published yet, sure, but the rest….What’s my excuse? The upside of this adventure, is that I came across some books that I’d never seen or heard of before! But anyway, on to my top ten list!
