Yay! It’s finally time for our first Renegades discussion! I feel like the wait has been so long since I announced this readalong, and it’s been torture. But now we’re finally reading this awesome book, and I’m very happy to be reading it together with all of you, and to be able to talk about it with you guys as well! This week we’ll be discussing from the prologue, up to the end of chapter 8. For those of you hearing about this readalong for the first time, you can find the info and sign-up post here. And if this is the first time you are hearing about Calendar Girls, it is a monthly blogging event which is hosted by Melanie and myself! Welcome to the Stranger Things book tag! If you have not watched season 2 of Stranger Things all the way to the end and still intend to, I highly recommend that you do not read past this point! There are spoilers galore! (But there is a tag for those who have watched season 1, and you can find it here!)

For those of you who have finished the 2nd season, and miss the setting and characters as much as I do, please read on! This tag was created by myself, Harker from The Hermit Librarian, Tris from Tris’ Nook, and Breeny from Breeny’s Books! And I’d like to thank the 3 of them one more time, because I could not have finished compiling this tag without them!

Calendar Girls Wrap-Up (October 2017)

my-banner-w-links-switched

Welcome to the wrap-up for another great month for Calendar Girls! This past month we got a little spookier by going with the Best Paranormal Novel theme! And it was so much fun to see what everyone’s favourites were. Seriously! That’s one of the best parts of Calendar Girls, all of the recommendations you indirectly received from friends. (If this is your first time hearing about Calendar Girls and are interested in finding out more, you can read my info page about the blog event here!)

Renegades by Marissa Meyer (Calendar Girls Readalong Announcement Post & Sign-Up)

RENEGADES readalong post banner final VERSION 3 B.png

Welcome to the third Calendar Girls readalong! If this is the first time that you’re hearing (or rather, reading) about Calendar Girls, you can find out more about the blog event here. But basically, it’s an event that we my co-host, Melanie and myself, host once a month, and included in the event is a monthly Twitter chat, and also a readalong to go along with the month’s pre-chosen theme! Since November’s theme is “Best End of a Series,” and it would have been close to impossible to find a book at the end of a series that everyone happens to have been following was impossible, we decided to do a theme-less readalong this month. Also, due to panicking at the thought of adding another book to my reading list for November, I decided to simply share the books I was already planning to read as options, and you all voted (Calendar Girls through the private poll, as well anonymous voters in a poll that I threw up on Twitter)…and here we are! If you have any questions at all, please leave them in the comments below, or contact me privately through my Contact page, or  by DMing me on Twitter (@flavbibliophile)!

#ARCstravaganza (#14): Renegades by Marissa Meyer

arcstravaganza banner.png

Happy Monday everyone! And also happy #ARCstravaganza day! I was actually able to schedule this post in advance…because this past weekend was not Thanksgiving weekend, and I wasn’t all thrown off, thinking Saturday was Friday, Sunday was Saturday, and Monday was Sunday. Yeah, I was all confuddled last week and posted my post a day late! Sigh. The shame! Anyway, this week it’s on time, and I’m featuring a book that I’m very excited to have gotten a copy of! I received this book from a good friend of mine, and I’ll just say thank you here again for the millionth time! Hehe.

Top Ten Tuesday (#21): Top Ten (Alive) Authors I’m Dying To Meet

toptentuesday2
Hurray for Tuesday! …because it’s not Monday, and because it’s also time for Top Ten Tuesday! This week it’s all about authors we’d like to meet, and I thought I’d switch it up a bit and make it more specific, by listing the living authors I’d love to meet. There are many deceased authors I would love to meet if I could, so I may just have to make that list someday as well. I hope that you enjoy my list!

#ReadThemAllThon Update (#3)

pokemon-reading.gifIt’s time for another #ReadThemAllThon update, which means that I’ve finished another book! Also, for those of you who don’t know about it, #ReadThemAllThon is a readathon which is Pokémon / Pokémon GO themed!

For info about the readathon, you can read my sign up post for it here. As you may know (if you’ve read my last two updates), I had a bit of a wonky start due to not having finished Nevernight when the tumblr_nnfzkzDz9k1tugqqno1_400readathon started, and then suffering from an intense book hangover afterward. I managed to push through, though, and read This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab at a relatively okay speed, all things considered. Haha. I finished and reviewed This Savage Song, and then moved on to Ghostly Echoes by William Ritter.
