Top Ten Tuesday (#31): Top Ten Books On My Fall TBR List

toptentuesday2

Hello everyone, and welcome to my Top Ten Tuesday post for this week! This theme, or prompt, is one which has me very excited because…I love Fall! I also thought that it’d be an easy choice, but once I looked at the official start and end dates for Fall, my face kind of fell, haha. Choosing the books on my TBR from September 22 to December 21st…well, let’s just say I didn’t know that Fall lasted that long because I live in Canada, and we get snow by some time in November usually. And when there’s snow on the ground, for me it officially becomes winter. But back to the books! Read on if you’d like to see which books I’m most excited to read for the rest of 2017 (and I’ll be listing them in the order that I’ll be reading them)!

Top Ten Tuesday (#30): Ten Books I Loved During The First Year I Started My Blog

toptentuesday2Soooo, I started blogging in April of 2016. Yes, just last year. But it seems like I’ve been doing this for so much longer than that! I feel like this has been my hobby for as long as I can remember. Very strange, all in all. But anyway, here are my top 10 favourite books that I read in the first year that I started my blog…last year…haha. These are all still current favourites as well, which goes to show just how much I liked them. Maybe I’ll have to take a look back in a year, or 2, or 3, and see how I feel about them then? It would be interesting to do, I think!

#ARCstravaganza (#9): Warcross by Marie Lu

arcstravaganza banner.png

Happy Monday everyone! And more importantly, happy #ARCstravaganza day! How was everyone’s weekend? Did you do anything exciting? Or did you get lots of reading time?! My weekend was insane! But in a good way. I was very lucky to have been invited to the Fall Preview by Penguin Random House Canada on Friday, which was a great event (and every exciting for me, since it was my first one)! I was able to hear about some awesome, upcoming releases, and hear from three Canadian authors (whose books I was also able to take home after the event). The drive from my home, to Toronto, is no joke. But it was definitely worth it to attend this event. On Saturday I worked for 12 hours, and Sunday I was up early, and headed back to Toronto for HarperCollins’ Frenzy Presents event! There we heard about some awesome upcoming YA from HarperCollins, heard from star authors Angie Thomas (The Hate U Give), Julie Murphy (Dumplin‘, and Ramona Blue), and Becky Albertalli (Simon VS. the Homo Sapiens Agenda)! I will be blog posts about this event, and the Penguin one as well, so keep an eye out for those this week or next!

Top Ten Tuesday (#29): Ten Books I Struggled to Get Into But Ended Up Loving

toptentuesday2Oh my goodness. It’s been so long since I’ve made one of these Top Ten Tuesday posts! They went on hiatus for a while, and when they came back, I was just too busy with other things. The themes also didn’t really inspire me. Usually when I would complete the Top Ten Tuesday posts, I would start making a list in my head the moment that I saw the prompt! This didn’t happen for me with the last few prompts, but kind of did for this one? So, I thought, why not get back into it now? I should be reading right now, but really want to be writing in stead, for some reason. Woops.

Monthly Wrap-Up (August 2017)

tumblr_ms9a56yZkR1sfyf8ho1_500I’m sorry guys, but Jin was too busy to send out kisses this time around. Also, I really wanted to use an autumn-themed GIF! And what can be more autumn-themed for me, than a pumpkin and a Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte?! Well, maybe a few things. Or many things. But, these are two out of the many things that I love about autumn. I also love Fall fashion, bundling up with a cup of hot tea and a good book. Alright. On to the re-cap!

Currently Reading, Watching, Listening To, Trying (#7)

ezgif-1-f3fef490bdIt’s update time! First of all, I wanted to apologize for the lack of reviews (and post in general) over the last few weeks. My boyfriend had 2 weeks off (and he doesn’t like to relax and sit around too much, but loves spending time with me…so you can put 2 and 2 together). I was also preparing for, and attending, multiple interviews, which also took up some of my time. And what about weekends, you ask? Those are just as insane, if not more so! But, there has been some progress, so please read on if you enjoy these posts!

The Epic Crush of Genie Lo by by F.C. Yee (Release Week Blitz & Giveaway)

epic crush of genie lo release blitz

Happy Book Birthday to The Epic Crush of Genie Lo by F.C. Yee! I really really want to read this book, but my reading schedule was sadly filled to the brim by the time I found out about this epicness! Since I’ll be reading it later this year (most likely), and therefore won’t be able to share my thoughts on it with you guys, I thought the least I could do is take part in the release blitz!

Dark Tower I: The Gunslinger: Film Tie-In by Stephen King (Giveaway) [Closed]

the-dark-tower-i-9781501168369_hrIs anyone else excited for the film release of the first Dark Tower movie? Because I know that I sure am! While I have never read the books, I always found that something drew me to them whenever I saw them at a book store. I would always stop and look the books over, especially once they were being sold in a box set. One of my local book stores had a really good sale on the box set of all of the Dark Tower books, and now I really regret not going for it! Anyone else have moments like that? I’ve been meaning to read Stephen King for years! But because in my head I knew him as an author of some of the most frightening horror stories on earth, I kind of avoided all of his books in stead. This series might change that for me though!

#ARCstravaganza (#3): The Last Magician by Lisa Maxwell

arcstravaganza (1).jpg

Mondays have been a lot more bearable since I started participating in #ARCstravaganza! Thank you Krysti at YA and Wine and Sarah at The Clever Reader for creating such a fun meme! #ARCstravaganza is meant for book bloggers to show off and discuss their ARCs, and I’ve been having a lot of fun with it! If you think that you would have fun with this too, be sure to check out the info below, as well as Krysti’s info post about the meme! Also, I have some exciting news for all of you. Starting next week, I will actually be taking over hosting the meme! You can read Krysti’s post about why she and Sarah sadly had to stop hosting the meme here. Another update is that there will be no giveaway associated with the meme (but that may change once I have the means to host one every month), and that participants can choose to participate on their blogs, on Instagram, or on both platform types!
